We aren’t exactly blessed with top quality racing on Monday, so we’ll make do with some low graded all-weather action instead.
Aegaeus – 14:50 Kempton – NAP 11/8 Bet365
After switching from turf to the all weather surface this horse has placed 3rd and won last time out. Todays contest is a class 4 handicap, which is a step up from the class 4 maiden he won at Lingfield last time out. This shouldn’t hinder Ed Dunlops horse in anyway really, the complete lack of talent in his rivals means this is quite a confident selection. 11/8 Wont be around for long. One slight concern is the 5 month break after it’s maiden victory, so under the assumption he’s been fine over the winter, it should be all systems go here.
Admiralty – 15:10 Wolverhampton – NB 7/4 Boylesports
I do love horses in form, and admiralty came back after a 5 month layoff following a class 6 win at Wolverhampton by winning a competitive class 5 affair at Kempton in February. He returns to Wolverhampton where he was a C&D winner in October, to face several of the rivals he beat last time easily enough.Ismael Mohammed has his horses in fine fettle at present with the likes of Mizbah (3rd in a Meydan handicap a few months ago) and the ultra consistent Mubtadi flying the trainers flag. THe horse is up 5lbs for his Kempton win, but Thomas Brown essentially writes that off with his claim, the super cool amateur jockey whos been enjoying success lately can pull out all the stops on Admiralty today.
The double pays 11/2 on Boylesports. Juicy.
