Horse Racing Tips 22nd July

Well, Dank won like a top class horse should, shame about the skinny odds, but a winners a winner.

Now we’re back to the mid week grind, no group 1 races to look forward to today.

West Leak Hare 14:30 Ayr 7/4 Stanjames

West leak Hare is in sparkling form at present and when you take into consideration the poor draw he had to overcome last time, he did well to win in impressive enough fashion at Catterick. He’s up 7lbs for that victory, which puts him at top weight for the race. Dandy Nicholls charge had 2 of todays rivals behind him last time, and that was a higher grade of race than this, so everything points todays a potentially massive run from the selection should he put his best foot forward.

Beckermet rates as a live danger to the selection, bouncing back to some form last time finishing 2nd of 11 last month, but in all seriousness we know what we’re getting with West Leak Hare, so there is no reason to look elsewhere.

Grand Diamond 15:05 Ayr 13/8 Boylesports

On paper this race looks tricky, despite there only being 4 runners. Cases can be made for all 4 in one way or another, but we’re happy to go with Grand Diamond, who had the 2nd favourite Forrest Flyer behind him on their 2nd to last start. He won over course and distance in an apprentices’s handicap so escape any sort of penalty for that, and with a 7 pound claimer on-board, everything points to the selection.

Forrest Flyer cannot be ignored, with the impressive Graham Lee on-board, this top weight is a course and distance winner and possess’s the quality to beat our selection, but we think the burden of top weight against a horse going for 3 wins from 4 starts should put him in his place.

Horse Racing Tips 21st July

There are a few races to focus on today, firstly the Kilboy Estates Stakes (group2) at the Curragh and the Prix Eugene Adam (group2) at Maison Laffitte.

Dank 3:45 Curragh 11/8 Coral

Dank progressed nicely last season, winning an Ascot handicap then a group 3 race at Sandown. She then achieved his biggest win when beating Chigun over 1m1f at Newmarket in a group 3 on seasonal debut. Annoyingly for Dank supporters, he was painfully close to beating Duntle at Royal Ascot in a group 2 race, that sort of form gives him an outstanding chance of victory today, but his price reflects that. A major danger comes in the form of Fiesolana, a 6f group 3 winner at Leopardstown, and 7f group 3 winner at Fairyhouse. The step up to 1m1f won’t get in her way today, having won over 1m2f in France.

Fascinating race. I like the idea of a Dank – Fiesolana reverse forecast.

Shikarpour 2:40 Maisons-Laffitte 11/8 Wiliam Hill

De Royer-Dupre’s charge was only narrowly denied at Royal Ascot in the Tercentenary Stakes (group 3) behind Remote. Prior to that he ran a respectable 5th of 19 behind Intello at Chantilly (group 1). Shikarpour is a clear pick, he’s capable of improving on the already very high level of form he’s shown so far. Buckwheat for Andre Fabre is the fly in the ointment, he’s completely unexpeosed and due to his powerful connections, he rates the chief danger today. When all is said and done however, i fully expect Shikarpour to win today, i said the same at Royal Ascot too, and he got reasonably unlucky in a better race than this.

Meandre Hoppegarten 15:35 9/4 William Hill

Heres a bonus selection. Meandre has done next to nothing since being well fancied for the Arc last year. Infact, he’s been quite disappointing. Meandre has been well backed all day to win this race for a 2nd time, and he may well be worth a small investment.

Horse Racing Tips 20th July

Damnit! I picked the wrong Godolphin horse to win yesterday, i hope you just blindly backed the Godolphin horses in maidens yesterday, quite a few of them won at decent prices.

In keeping with the Godolphin theme, my first tip today is a Godolphin horse returning to the all weather after a disappointing turf performance last time.

Chord Chart 18:35 Lingfield 7/4 Stanjames

This acclamation colt finished a 4 length 5th at Nottingham on debut, but then switched to the all weather at Wolverhampton and absolutely bolted up (the winning distance was just over a length, but the manner in which he won constitutes bolting up to me!). Bin Suroor decided to take him back to the turf at Ascot, and he yet again was beaten exactly 4 lengths. Maybe they wanted to give him another try on the turf just to see where they are with him. The return to the all weather should see the best of him, and although he has some decent opposition to take on today, this is a class 5 nursery..

Flamborough Breeze 20:45 Lingfield 4/1 Stanjames

Here is a betcirca favourite, and this selection is being put up partly out of the fact he’s done us so many favours in the past. In Feburary this year, Flamborough Breeze won 3 races back to back at Kempton, then the decision was made to race this horse at Lingfield, here the selection frustratingly finished 2nd by a short head. By this time, he had his balls in the handicappers vice so the decision was taken to go up in grade and a trip on the turf. He’s back down to a class 5 today against some fairly exposed and unreliable types. He’s 4-1 due to not winning since he racked up his hat trick earlier this year, so, he could and should be an each way bet to nothing, we hope.

Tipsy Tipster Friday Horse Racing Tips

Feels like dancing did us proud yesterday, as did Figure of speech really, only caught on the line to deny us a superb 23-1 double. We had the winner and the each way, so cannot complain really.

Friday sees many top class races, including the group 1 fillies race at Newmarket, but although i think Sky Lantern can win, and should win, i cannot support her at the price, i’ll just sit back and watch that.

The bet today is a Jollies and rags 4 fold on Bet365. You back several horses to win in each race as opposed to one, it gives you interest in tough races where you’re able to narrow selections down to just a handful of runners.

Here goes..

1:40 Newmarket: Dream Wild, Jubilante & Nardin
2:10 Newmarket: Rizeena & Bye Bye Birdie
2:25 York: Rosdhu Queen & Body And Soul
3:05 Ascot: Caravan Rolls On & Noble Silk

£10 pays £135.69 with Bet365.

Bare in mind, this bet can only be placed on Bet365.

I’ve had a single on Jubilante at 6-1 on William Hill, along with a cheeky double on Rizeena & Sky Lantern (last night it was 7-2 on William Hill). Also a double on True Story (3:50 Newmarket) and Vermont 4:25 Newmarket at 5-1 on Bet365. Let’s bash the bookies today, if the fancied horses go in, we’ll be laughing all the way to the bank.
