So. It’s been a while. I hope you’ve been winning money while i took a small break. Let’s continue where we left off eh?
Benefficient – 18:40 Punchestown – NAP – 5/1 VCBet
This horse owes me nothing. He came up huge at Cheltenham for me at 25-1. Also had him in a forecast with Dynaste. Which is nice. Dynaste has since come out and won at the Grand National meeting at Aintree earlier this month. Special Tiara won at Aintree and this might come too soon. Realt Mor beat the useful Dedigout, Mikael D’haguenet and Punchestown Festival winner Mount Benbulben. He rates as a real danger to Benefficient. Baily Green got oh so close to Simonsig at Cheltenham but then disappointed greatly at Aintree where he was pulled up. Arvika Ligeonniere, what to make of this horse. He fell when beaten as an 8/13 favourite in a 3 horse race won by Benefficient, he then went to Cheltenham where he was meant to be a real danger to Simonsig, but was pulled up. He could bounce back to the form that saw him win 2 grade one affairs towards the end of last year, but i wouldn’t have complete faith in him really.
The rapidly improving Bryan Cooper rides Benefficient, he gets a great tune out of him and at 5-1, i expect we’ll get a right old run for our money. One MAJOR issue is he hasn’t ever won on soft ground. He’s placed, but never won. The ground could end up in his favour as the rain falls, he’s won on heavy several times. I heard it’ll rain more at Punchestown today, which could be good. He could be an EW bet to nothing. Here’s to hoping.
